Hunting the Alaska-Yukon moose with MacMillan River Adventures for one of the largest big game animals in North America is an unbelievable experience. The Yukon moose, known for their massive antlers and impressive body size, thrive in the diverse terrain of the MacMillan River Concession, which includes immense river valleys, large lakes, and alpine areas. Our hunts coincide with the rut phases, beginning in early September and concluding in early October. With many years pursuing Yukon Moose, these dates have proven to provide the best chances of calling in mature bulls. The experience of hunting moose in rut is incredible.

Payment Policies
The survey aimed to estimate the moose population’s abundance, distribution, and composition in the Lower MacMillan River area. Moose were observed in about 34% of survey blocks, with 1,134 counted, including mature bulls, cows, yearlings, and calves. The highest moose densities were found in hilly terrain with past burns (16-31 years old) and subalpine willow habitats, while fewer moose were seen in forested lowlands. This data helps guide conservation and hunting management efforts.
