Question About Our Hunts?

Hunt Details
Comfortable Accommodations
At MacMillan River Adventures, we provide comfortable and well-equipped accommodations to ensure hunters have a relaxing place to rest after long days in the field. River and lake-based moose, grizzly, and black bear hunts will begin and end back at one of our cabins each day, offering a warm and secure retreat after time spent in the rugged Yukon terrain. Our 2- to 4-person wood cabins are outfitted with essential amenities, including generator or solar power, showers, and even Starlink internet access at select locations. After a full day of hunting, you can return to a dry, heated cabin with foam mattresses on wooden-framed beds and the comforts needed to recharge for the next adventure.
For hunters venturing deeper into remote areas, temporary spike camps may be necessary to maximize hunting opportunities. These backcountry camps provide the essentials but are more rugged, meaning no showers! Regardless of location, all meals are provided throughout the hunt, including breakfast, lunch, and a hot dinner daily to keep you fueled in the field. While we do not provide alcohol during the hunt, cabins are stocked with the essentials to ensure a comfortable stay. Showers and outhouses are available at our main cabins, making your Yukon hunting experience both rewarding and as comfortable as possible given the remote setting.
Expert Guides for Your Hunt
We take pride in our team of highly experienced and knowledgeable guides, ensuring that every hunter has a safe, rewarding, and unforgettable experience. Yukon law requires every hunter to be accompanied by a licensed guide, and our team consists of seasoned professionals who have spent years navigating this rugged terrain and studying the behavior of the wildlife that call it home. Whether you’re tracking a massive Alaska-Yukon moose, a stealthy wolf, or a high-country Stone sheep, our guides use their deep expertise to position you for success in the field.
While our guides are focused on helping you achieve your hunting goals, your safety is always the top priority. The Yukon is vast and unpredictable, but with an experienced guide by your side, you can focus on the hunt while they handle navigation, spotting, and strategy. We encourage hunters to ask questions, learn from their guide, and fully immerse themselves in the experience. Each hunt is not just about the trophy but also about gaining knowledge and creating lifelong memories in one of the last great wilderness frontiers.
What to Bring
Proper preparation is key to a successful hunt, and we want to ensure you have everything you need for your Yukon adventure. A detailed gear list, including recommended clothing, equipment, and personal items, will be provided upon booking. This will help you pack appropriately for the rugged terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.
LICENSES and REGULATIONS
If bringing a rifle (centerfire or muzzleloader), you must complete a Canadian Firearms Declaration form before or upon arrival at Customs. This form is not required for archery equipment.
You are responsible for purchasing your Non-resident Yukon big game hunting license in May the year of your hunt. Follow the steps and only purchase the hunting license, we will provide the specific species licenses and seals and the non-resident fishing license. Complete this process in May of your hunt year and upload a copy of the actual license (pdf file) when you receive it by email to your MRA profile.
Clients bringing firearms into Canada must complete a Non-Resident Firearms Declaration (Form RCMP 5589) along with a fee. The declaration form should be filled out prior to arrival at the Canada point of entry. However, it should not be signed before arriving at the entry point, as a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) customs officer must witness the signature. Declare all firearms to the border services officer with your ‘Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Form’ when you arrive at the border and answer all questions truthfully. Once the declaration has been confirmed by the CBSA customs officer, it acts as a license for the owner and it is valid for 60 days. Find information and links to the firearms forms here. If you are interested in pre-processing your firearm prior to entering Canada as a non-resident hunter, contact your local CBSA. It is advisable to start the process early.
For your return trip to the U.S. please complete Department of Homeland Securities Form 4457. This is a certificate of registration for personal effects taken abroad. Personal effects would include your rifle & scope or other expensive items that have serial numbers. THIS FORM IS NOT REQUIRED, BUT MAY MAKE REENTRY TO THE U.S. CONSIDERABLY EASIER.
